I am single and loved...toothless and all.

My boys: Do you know how we know you are back in Mom mode when we get home from somewhere?

Me: How?

The boys: Coz your tooth comes out and your pajama pants go on

I was thinking about that as I was getting ready in the morning and someone messaged me about the significance of singleness post I shared on Facebook and in my head I said, “Lord, please send me a man that will love me toothless and all.”

And as I brushed my teeth I heard His still small voice whisper, “I love you like that.” And here come the waterworks (gosh darn! I keep telling God I’m a thug, why He gotta make me a cry baby? )

My first love does not wear dirty socks. Whew!

Singleness is more than just limbo or lingering listlessly in the waiting room before marriage. Singleness has far more significance than that. Singleness, like marriage, is also a beautiful picture of God and his plan. Does returning to my first love mean it is always easy and that I never have difficult days? Most certainly not! But it does mean that just as I would turn to my spouse in those moments, I am learning to turn to God. He is the One after all that can work ALL things out and that has solutions for everything!

The added bonus is that I don’t have to pick up after him, hear him chew, listen to him snore or smell his morning breath. Lol
